Barry, the sculler, states: “Confusion lias arisen owing to Jack Burns, Wells and Goodsell depositing in Sydney a stake for a race with me. 1 would like to give Goodsell first chance on the Thames in June or July, and thereafter, if I win, am willing to meet- Burns here. I could not undertake to row against either on the Parramatta without a larger guarantee than I cai’e to suggest.” It is understood that Barry’s idea for a race in Sydney would be £2OOO.
