MANAIA’S BAND
NEW INSTRUMENTS ARRIVED. A full set of twenty-four instruments, ordered direct from England six months ago by the Manaia Municipal Band came to hand to-day. They are of excellent quality—Besson’s Class A, full plated, and will add much 'to the appearance and performances of the band. With a view to liquidating a, liability <xf £2Co (on the (instruments, conductor Cosgrove has instituted a series of evening visits by the hand to homesteads in the adjacent rural areas, the first two of which have netted a return of £23 in contributions to the fund. Valuable assistance has 1 een rendered to the project by Messrs G. Cowling and J. J. Daley, who have agreed to provide motor conveyance gratis throughout the campaign. The band intends taking part in the forthcoming band contest at New P'ly- . moutli.
