A mother and seven children from Julia Creek, central western Queensland, came to Brisbane and visited the seaside resort at Redoldffe. Rain fell on the first night. A girl seven years old had never seen rain before, and became so excited that she stood in the rain and had a natural shower-bath. T'he mother explained that she_ had al.mtOist forgotten the sound 1 of rain. She had seen none since the night her seven-year-old girl was born. They relied on artesian bores at Julia Creek.
