Handley 19. PLAYERS ENTERTAINED. NEW PLYMOUTH TOURNEY GATHERING. On Wednesday evening the bowlers taking part in the bowling tourney at New Plymouth were entertained at Kawaroa Park by the Taranaki Centre. Mr J. Foy, president, was in the chair. In proposing the health of the visitors the president said that the tourney officials always set themselves out to look after visitors, and were assured that thus the tourney would increase in popularity. This' was proved by the complimentary remarks made by bowlers from other centres from whom the centre welcomed suggestions for improvements. Mr Redstone (Victoria) and Mr Okley (Feilding) made felicitous replies in, appreciation of the hospitality of the centre.

Other toasts honoured were “The Dominion Council,” “The Taranaki Centre.” “The Ladies,” and “The Press.” It was mentioned by the chairman that Hawcra held a tourney at Easter and ho hoped to see large'entries from many outside centres.
