Raiding tribesmen in the Sahara were completely routed and over 200 were killed in the course of a fierce battle on the extreme fringe of the Italian occupied area. The fight originated at an Italian outpost near the Augila oasis. The outpost came into conflict witli tribesmen who were advancing with the evident intention of pillaging. The casualties among the Italian and native troops consisted of ten killed and 20 wounded.
