THE FLOWER SHOW. preliminary' arr angements. An annual event of interest to the people of the Alatapu district- is the flower show. On Monday evening a general meeting was held, at which officials were appointed' and other details arranged, the date being fixed for February 27. . Mr SV. A. Guy was elected chairman, Mr H. Sharp treasurer, and AH . B. Cole secretary. . The following were elected stewards: ■Cut blooms. All- and Air® Sharp; vegetables, Ales sirs W. T. Seed and O. . Bootten; children's classes, Alesdames Willis and Calder; home industries' and children’s cooking, Mrs Seed and Aiiss Seed ; needlework Alesdames Carter and Thomas; children’s decorative, Airs, Calder and Aiiss L. Hosikiiv; decora-- :' tive, Mrs Willis and Aiiss M; Guy; pot /-j plants, Alisses Carter and B. Seed 1 ; - hoopla., Alessrs H. Hcekin and R. Guy; sweets stall, Alisses B. Seed and 'At. - Guy; bran tub. Aliases B. Seed, -L. Seed and S. Gatenby. ‘ A" _ The judges will be: Cut-bloom® and , decorative section, Air and!"Airs A; Sv c Rogers; vegetables. Air G. H. AHUs ;- i home industries. Airs Edwards; fancy work, Airs Archibald. Points prizes in several sections were promised by members, and it was resolved to offer for competition a • bag J of sugar, a bag of flour and a 51b box of tea. _ . .1 . The weight judging will be in charge of Aiessrs W. E. Carter and L. Proeee; button-holes, Aiiss Downey; afternoon tea, Alesdames Guy and Seed and Aiiss Bootten. ' .
