SYDNEY, Jan. 14, James Dignam, aged was seeking work from the Bakers’ Union at the Trades Hall, Sydney, to-day Avhen a, crowd of unemployed commenced fight-j ing. He avus knocked, down and kicked most unmercifully on the head and face. His skull Avas fractured and bis right eye destroyed. . The "police haA'e arrested Charles Brodie, a journeyman baker, aged 40, on a charge of indicting grievous bodily harm on Dignam. Dignam has positively identilied Brodie as the man who kicked him ferociously, knocking his eye uot. Brodie has been remanded.
