The- New South Wales swimming .championships commenced yesterday. Arne Borg was given an ovation when he appeared. Charlton watched the races from- the bank. The results are.— Boys’ 220 yards championship.— Cecil light (Sydney) won in- the record time of 2min. 34sec. 440 yards.—Arne Borg (Sweden 1, Ryan (Manly), 2, Griffiths (Sydney) 3, Borg soon had a lead and won by 25 yards, with the tim’d five yards away. Time, smin. l-ssec. The winner appeared t - have little in reserve and observers are of opinion that • Charlton could have beaten him. 100 yards hack stroke.—Campbell 1, Watson 2, Rowe 3.
