Alexander Kenneth Murray, from Canberra, who arrived in London in June to establish a claim for a baronetcy and extensive estates, has communicated with Australia House. He had a conference with the Scottish authorities but finality was not reached. Mr. Murray was perturbed and complained of “a passive resistance to any claims.” In the course of a letter to a friend lie complained that it was terrible. He had expended all. iiis money to establish his claim and did ■not know what to- do. The last record was a letter dated September 29. from an Edinburgh suburb to his son, a fruitgrower, near Sydney, in which he said he was being taken to India. Australia House was asked to trace the communication, but the efforts of the police and the Scottish authorities were resultless and they are sending copies of revelant correspondence to the Dominions Office. Many letters addressed t<> Sir Alexander Murray are awaiting at Australia House. Prior to liis disappearance Murray visited General Ryrie, and presented panoramic views of Canberra and a visiting card on which appeared, “A. K, Murray, editor and proprietor of ‘Federal Capital Pioneer,’ Canberra.”
