HAWEBA TRACK NOTES

(By “Limited.”) Most of the horses having had plenty of racing during the holidays, there was no galloping on: -the Hawera tracks o-± any consequence this morning. Silvermine wa-s out exercising and looks not a -tajp the worse for his performances at Auckland. Blight Glow is expected back -to-day. Glengairiff, who brushed a: knee on the second day -at New Plymouth, is quite -all right again and will begot ready for HawcTOi at the end of (the month. _ TT . C. Jackson’s team— Benzorai, Vivo and La-takia —has returned from their trip to Palmerston and Marion. L-ata-kin; lightened up a bit ois a result of the racing and -travelling. Vivo- has been purchased by a patron of J. Fryer’s stable and _ goes under that mentor’s care- forthwith. Blac-lc Odin -bled badly a>fc Stratford and will -have to be spelled for a term. He will be -turned out at his owner’s place at Elt-ham. Royal Mint will also -be set aside until the winter racing rolls round. Ho will bo spelled at New Plymouth. Ivawhakina whilst being -brought back from New Plymouth played up im. the -horse box a-nd injured himself about the legs. He will require treatment for a period. Calla-pat was a big disappointment and Ills poor showings are- hard to- account for. O. Cox has a team engaged for the Wellington meeting commencing on the 2 2nd.

Bright Glow is a notable _ absentee fro-m -the Wellington nominations. She will make her next appearance under silk at the local meeting. J. Brown has engaged Silvermine and Llano-re for Trentham.

J. Fryer has Airtight in the. highweight races and the- D-uo-ro Cup. R. Brough also has Coalmint engaged ini the hack events.
