BODY FOUND IN .HARBOUR

WELLINGTON, Dec. 27.
Tlie body of Charles A. Rodman was recovered from the harbour near Jervois Quay yesterday. Rodman fell off the wharf shortly before nine o’clock on Tuesday night, since when dragging operations have been continued by the police and Harb'our Board officials.
Deceased, who was 50 years of age, was, up to a fortnight ago, staying at the Salvation Army Home at Miramar.
•SHUNTER FATALLY .HURT.
WELLINGTON, Dec. 26. Trevor William MoCullem, a single man aged 29, died at Wellington Hospital yesterday from injuries received during shunting operations at Thorndon Railway yards on Christmas Eve. Mc'Cullem, who was crushed between two trucks, was taken to hospital in a serious condition suffering from a badly crusted t'high and a fractured pelvis.
YOUNG WOMAN INJURED
CHRISTCHURCH, Dec. 26. Ella Constance Hack, a school teacher and a single woman, is now in hospital suffering from serious injuries as the result of ,a motor car which she was driving at Lyttelton yesterday, getting out of control and dashing into a fence at a speed of forty miles an hour. MOTOR CYCLIST KILLED. CHRIST CHURCH, Dec. 6. A motor-cyclist, Charles Braddock, aged 35, station cook of Orari, was killed on the Main North Road at noon to-day. It was at first thought that the man’s name was Hamilton, but this proved to be wrong. Braddock was caught between a motor truck and a motor car. He tried to pass the truck, and the motor car, coming from the opposite direction, struck him. The rider was badly hurt and died from the injuries received. PETONE BEACH FATALITY. WELLINGTON, Dec. 24. An inquest was held to-day on. Rae Verna Saul, aged two years and three months, who was drowned on the Petone Beach on Saturday.
The evidence of her mother and her sister Joan, aged seven, showed that the child was paddling with Joan in shallow water, and fell face downwards. They were alone, and Joan lifted the child and carried her home. A doctor certified that he used artificial respiration for half an hour, without result, and that death was due to drowning. The coroner returned a verdict aecardingly, and that no blame was attached to anyone.
