HAWERA LODGE. HALF-YEARLY MEETING. A large assemblage of Druids from all parts of Taranaki gathered at the lodge room last evening for the halfyefirly meeting of the lodge number ie. . The report of the secretary disclosed a steady growth in membership, 26 in six months, and the total lor the lodge being over 400. At the conclusion of the business of the lodge P.D.P. Bro. TV. Adams presented on behalf of the lodge a framed photograph of the late secretary, Bro W. Harvey, to be sent to Mrs. Harvey in Wellington. A similar photograph was for the lodge room. P.A. Bro. C. M. Bailey was presented with a P.A. collar and diploma, D.P. Bro. Brough- congratulating him for his services during his term or office. The installation of new officers was conducted by D.P. Bro, G. G. Brough, the following being installed: J.D. Arch., Bro. Iv. L. Cawsey; A.D., Bro. W. J. Grant; V.A.D., Bro. D. Hicks; secretary, Bro. G. G. Brough; treasurer, Bro, W. A. D. Adams; minute secretary, Bro. S. Ingham; 1.G., Bro. M. ' A. Rowlands; 0.G., Bro. G. C. Harding; A.D. Bards, Bros. A. Ewiugton, T. Carter; V.A. Bards, Bros. L. Billows, M. Hitchcock. “The King and the Druids” having been honoured, “The Grand Lodge” was proposed by P.D.P. Bro. J. AY. Harding, who stressed the need of the central institution for the proper functioning of Druidism. He welcomed other lodge members, and said that all these institutions had their grand lodges to do work in revising rules and arranging benefits to members. He congratulated the lodge and hoped they would soon reach the 500 mark. The toast was acknowledged by the' D.D. Bro.
