A RACING SENSATION.

THREE MEN DISQUALIFIED

The Southern District Riacing Association has disqualified the mare Golden Poppy, R.. Beaver (horse owner), James Beaver (lessee), and J. Fill lei*, a Wagga farmer, for three years for corrupt practices at Tumbarumba races. The disqualifications have caused a sensation, as the men are well-known in racing circles. It is alleged that the horse was raced in shoes instead of plates. lIAWERA TRACK NOTES. “By “Limited.”) The heavy rains having made the plough track at the Hawera racecourse impossible for fast work trainers had the use of the' outside of the course proper this morning. This track was in splendid order and provided good going. W. Pine was first to work, giving Denier a good work out over five furlongs without being ridden out. Silvermine, with Llanore for a companion, set out from the seven furlong post, running to the-three (a half-mile) in 52 3-ssec. Silvermine led all the wav and finished well.

Vivo and Bemortr jumped off from the six furlongs post. Benzora was pulled off after going half a mile. Vivo finished her six furlongs in 1.22. The two hurdlers San Fera and Glengariff galloped seven furlongs in 1.38 4-5. Glengariff finished a couple of lengths in front. Bright Glow was not galloped fast, but did useful pace work on the sand. Calapat and Tenacre did a good halfmile gallop in 51-2-sec., Calapat being a shade in front at the finish. Havering and Patonga did a good working gallop from the six furlongs without making time. Banbridge and Golden Flower sprinted smartly over three furlongs in 38 4-5. Cool Mint ,by himself ran half a mile in 53 l-osec. Latakia and Airway were allotted easy pace work on the sand. Airtight, Paitonu, and Gasnapper , provided an interesting gallop, going six furlongs. Airtight and Paitonu made the running until well up the straight, when Gasnapper put in a claim, and, finishing well, passed the post in front of the other pair. The time was very fair, 1.21, the first furlong taking 14sec. Richfield got the advantage of the jump-off and led Egeria and Convert home over three furlongs in 38Jsec/ Boundary, moving off smartly, beat Audience (the Acre—Applause mare) over four furlongs in 51 3-ssee. Sovena and Men cl ip ran together over sax furlongs in 1.205, both horses'going well.

Reremoana had Valpre for a companion over the first part of a fivefuirlong gallop, which he finished up in 1.6. Royal Mint and Royal Acre went a mile together, the first _ half taking 55sec., finishing their mile in 1.535, with Royal Acre in front. Kaha beat Tan© over five furlongs, run in 1.63-5. Anolo passed through Hawera yesterday on her way to the Woodville meeting. , T. Tito and A. McCormac left by car this morning to fulfil riding engagements at Woodville. A, McOormao is to ride Huikai again.
