'The activities of the ladies ’ committee were the subject of considerable eulogy at the annual meeting of the Hawera Municipal Band last evening, and a vote of thanks for their generous assistance in securing funds for the contest at Wanganui was carried by acclamation

Overall received a property from a mortgagee, Mrs. Helen Warren, and paid 2s 6-d transfer fee on the insurance policy, believing the premium to have been paid. Summing up, tne judge said the company by accepting the transfer fee had lulled Overall into a- belief that his premises were insured. This remained the position till two days after the fire in the premises, when the agents informed Overall the premium was unpaid.
