INJURIES PROVE FATAL

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Dec. 9. Henry Edward Ashby, a lad sixteen years of age, who jumped over Grafton Street- bridge on Friday morning and sustained severe injuries, died in the Auckland hospital to-day. GIRL FATALLY INJURED. INVERCARGILL, Dec. 9. Margaret Hunter Malcom, aged 18, while riding a horse at Locliiel on Saturday, was thrown, receiving fatal injuries. An inquest will he held on Monday. WOMAN’S SUDDEN DEATH. DANNEVIRKE, Dec. 8. While on her way home this afternoon to her residence in Albert Street, j Mrs. Agnes Mexted, wife of Walter Mexted, who arrived by the afternoon express from Palmerston North, was taken ill in a taxicab, and on arrival at her homo expired. Mrs. Mexted was 64 years of age. She had been under medical treatment for heart trouble. No inquest will he held. FATAL MOTOR ACCIDENT. WELLINGTON, Dec. 8. At tlie inquest oil Janet Lewis, aged 18, who was killed as tlie result of a motor-car capsizing near Plimmerton last Sunday, medical evidence indicated that death was due to shock as the result of internal injuries. The driver, Lionel Charles White, aged 22, said the car was a single seater with a dickey. He had three passengers in the front seat, deceased sitting on the knees of another girlalso two men on the- dickey. In at-1 tempting to change gears on the hill he missed and the car ran back before he could apply the brake, and cap-1 sized. He said he had room to manipulate tlie levers, hut the road was very narrow and a. wheel went over the .bank , , The verdict was that death was due to misadventure. DEATH FROM INJURIES. AUCKLAND, Dec. 10. j John Sanderson died last night from 1 burns and other injuries resulting from an explosion of petrol on the launch Huana at Nelson’ Street wharf on Thursday. DEATH OF A VISITOR. ■ AUCKLAND, Dec. 10. While visiting a patient yesterday afternoon. Mrs. Mary Ratcliff, aged 71. of 34 Wynyard Rond. Mount Eden, collapsed at Auckland Hospital and died an hour later. THREE INJURED IN MOTOR CAR 1 COLLISION. HAMILTON, Dee. 10. Two cars collided a.t a sharp bend on the Te Arohai-Morrinsville Road on Saturday night. Three passengers in one tear, which was returning from the HaunI ilton trots to Wailii, were injured and were treated in a private hoispi'tal at Morrinsvillc. Later -two were admitted trt the Wa-ilii Hospital. A Wailii report this .morning stated, that A. Broadfoot received injuries to his head and shoulder and was in a: serious condition; J. Both ears were badly damaged. MOTOR CYCLIST INJURED. CHRISTCHURCH, Dee. 10. While riding a. motor cycle on Saturday evening, J. Thaekwell, a single man, collided with a motor car and was admitted to hospital in ah. unconscious condition. He was suffering from head wounds. His conditions to-day showed am improvement. BODY RECOVERED. NEW PLYMOUTH, Dec. 10. The body of Haskell, who was 1 drowned on Saturday afternoon, was recovered this 1 afternoon on the beach ■near Te Henui River.
