Barker and Petersen opened well, and then there was a slump till Morrison and Sagar, with Barker, made two good stands; but with six down for 67 school’s chances did not look too good. The last wicket put on 9. and the winning hit was made by Pacey, but at- 115 Gray was out, school heading the opposing total by only four runs. THREE POINT WIN FOR OKAIAWA Playing at Eitham, Okaiawa scored a three-point win over the local team, closing their first innings a't 197 forj the loss of only six wickets. Elthamj were only able to compile 54 and 381 in their first and second innings res-1 pectivcly. Penny (eight for 15) in Eitham ’s first innings- and Linn (seven for 5) in the -second innings, were the principal -destroying agents, against whose bowling only Donnelly (16 and 26) and Walker ('ll) made anything like .a stand. Batting for Okaiawa, Betts (88) and Crawford f (43) .were responsible ,for some lively leather hunting, in which they were ably supported by Thomas, Atkins and Penny. Betts’s 88 included two .sixes and ten fours. Donnelly’s- second innings -strike for 26 was made up of a hit for six, four fours and an equal number of singles. Eitham’s attack was weak and there is ample room for improvement in the team’s fielding. Details are as follow: ELTITAM. First Innings.
