MINIATURE RIFLE SHOTS.

IMWBRA CLUB SEASON. A NNU A L DINNER TO-NIGHT. A big gathering' is expected at the Carlton tea rooms this evening, when the annual dinner of the Hawera Miniature Rifle 'Club will mark the formal closing of the 1928 season. The presentation of trophies will be a prominent feature. Hollowing are the season’s- trophywinners and runners up: Mr. S. Outran’s- Trophy, O. Arnold I, J. Buist 2; Mrs Veiteh’s Trophy, L. Uttinger 1_ Miss T. Ingram 2; Pres. Beoth’s Trophy, P. Peterson I, 'C. Arnold 2; First Junior Trophy, J. Tapp I, Audrey Harding 2; Miss Ett-ie ißae’s Trophy, G. Harding 1, A. Elgar 2; P. 'O. Veale’s Trophy, Miss Elsie Rae and Mrs Veitch tie for (first: E. Uttinker’s Trophy, Mrs. Veitch 1, Miss T. Ingram C. Anold 2; Second Junior Trophy, J. Olapham 1, D. Buist 2; Senior Championship Men’s, L. Uttinger 1, C. Arnold 2; Senior Championship Ladies, Mrs. Veitch 1, Miss T. Ingram 2; Junior Championship, Kathleen Petersen 1, J. Clapham 2; Champion Team, C. An'old (captain), Mrs. Kathleen Petersen, B. Watts, R. Allan, I; P. Petersen (captain), A. Elgar, L. Rush, Audrey Harding, .T. Buist, 2.

Several outside matches were fired during the season. These proved very popular. A home and home match with the New Plymouth Defence Rifle Club was won by New Plymouth by (52 points, and a Ironic and home match with the Castlecliff Ladies’ Club resulted in a win to the Hawera team by S points. I Matches with total teams were fired - as follows: ! Geo. Symc’s and Ob., 353 v. H.M.R.U. 3'67; Electric- Light Company 312 v. H.M.R.C. 326; Returned Soldiers’ Association 370 v. ILM.BjC. 393; Hawera Star 450 v. H.M.R.C. 461; Cadet Company 254 v. H.M.R.C. 271; Returned Soldiers Association 61S v. H.M.R.C. 645. Club members had one match away. That was at New Plymouth, against the New Plymouth Miniature Rifle Club, which defeated the Hawera Club bv 14 points, the scores being N.P. 1166, H.M.R.C. 1152. All ■ trophies won this season have been on show in Mr. A. Elgar’s win-/ dow.
