WORK FOR UNEMPLOYED.
CBy Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Dee. S. The Mayor, Mr J. K. Archer, announced to-day that, with the approval of both parties 1 on the Christchurch Ci,ty Council, it had been decided (to provide a fortnight’s work for 200 unemployed, ■with a vicAV to their earning something to' see them through the Christmas period. The work is estimated .to cost £2OOO, and the Government was being asked to bear it.
