WEDDING.

AXIyAN—YOU-NG. On Wednesday evening, November 2S, at St. John’s Presbyterian Church, Hawera, the marriage was solemnised of Mis s . Annie Gillies Young, eldest daughter of Mrs and the late William Young, of Merrick Gardens, Glasgow, and Mr William Wilson Allan, second son of the late Mr and Mrs James A. Allan, of Macduff, Scotland and nephcAV of Miss Wilson_ Argyle Street, Hawera. The Rev. Mr Fletcher officiated and Miss Joyce Dix presided at the organ. The church was very prettily decorated by tho Misses P. Syme and E. M. Allan, which made a beautiful setting, the large bowls of crimson roses and white lillies arranged on each side *of the party, and garlands of many coloured flowers and ferns providing a kaleidoscopic scene. The bride, 'who was escorted by Mr Walter Syme, was attired in a frock of ivory broche satin, the long tight fitting sleeves being laced with pearls to tho wrist, while the skirt which was draped slightly to one side, was caught with an ornamental buckle of pearl and diamante. Her veil of white tulle, prettily embroidered in horse shoe pattern, was daintily held with a coronet of orange blossoms. She also wore shoes of silver broche. A sheaf of Arum lillies and fragmontissima, maiden hair fern and white heather, which with a little silver horse shoe for luck, completed a beautiful toilet. The bridesmaid, Miss E. M. Allan, sister of the bridegroom, wore a pretty mode of silk lace over apricot crepe de chene. with juliet eap and spray, of autumn tinted leaves to tone. Apricot tinted roses, sweet peas, autumn leaves! and white heather made a dainty bou-1 quet. Mr C. E. Spens-Black, of Ha-; wera, performed the duties of best man. The happy couple left, the church I amidst a shower of confetti and loose red rose petals. The bride ’s present to the bridegroom was a diamond tie-pin, and the groom’s present to the bride was a beautiful rope of pearls, and to the bridesmaid a gold wristlet watch. The best man received a silver cigarette case. The wedding eake, which was the gift of the bride’s two youngest brothers in Scotland, was very prettily decorated. Fallowing the ceremony a dinner was held at the Carlton tea rooms, where Miss Urlson was hostess. She Avore a smart frock of mushroom toned shot taffeta, panelled Avith silver lace with hat in suit, and bouquet to tone.

Later Mr and Mr s Allan left by car for the north, where the honeym'oon was spent. The bride wore a dress in beige georgette and lace with smart ensemble coat of silk poplin trimmed in fawn, shoes and stockings to tone, and ehic hat in scarlet and .gold finished with large passion flowers.
