APPOINTMENT OF MANAGER. DUNEDIN MAN CHOSEN. A special meeting of the Eltham Borough Council was held last evening for the purpose of considering applications for the position of gasworks manager, Tendered vacant By the resignation of Air C. J. Bagby, who was recent]}’' appointed to control the municipal gasworks at Dargaville. There were present: His Worship the Alayor (Air I. J. Bridger), and Councillors E. 11. Thomas, J. O’Hagen, G. W. Taylor, It. L. Garden and A. C. Ricketts. Eighteen applications had been received and reviewed by the Finance Committee, wlio recommended that the appointment be made from flirce names submitted. The names were accordingly submitted and a scries of elimination ballots resulted in the appointment of Air A. Blackman, of Dunedin.
