Mr A. Allen, of Auckland, during a business trip to Hawera, is staying at the White /Hart Hotel. The death is announced from London of Lady Alexander, wife of Sir William Alexander, M.P. Mr Mat. Richards, of Timaru, is a guest, at the White Hart Hotel during a short stay in Hawera. Mr E. Dixon was a passenger by ,t.he express for Wellington, where he attends the annual meeting of the New Zealand Alliance.

Mr W. P. Fennel, of Auckland, was on December 1 admitted' a,s a .barrister of the Supreme Court by Mr Justice Fr azer, on the motion of.Mr J- J. Sullivan. Mr Fennell is the sou of Mr and Mils J. Fennell, of Hawera. Mrs M. Cramp, of Hawera, who has been in the Oidi World on a lib iiiday tour, lias reached Sydney on her way back to Hawera.
