At Westfield there was an average yarding of ox beef, which sold under steady competition at prices on a par with last week’s rates. Lighter sorts specially were very firm. One truck of bullocks realised £l6 15s to £l7 12s 6d. Another realised £ls 12s- 6d to £l6 12s 6d. Fat cows and heifers came forward in less than average numbers, and were very firm at last week’s ra>:es. \ T oung cows and heifers realised £lO 10s to £ll, and lighter sorts £2 5s to. £9 10s. Extra choice qx sold to 455, per 1001 b, prime young cow and heifer beef to 40s.

Sheep.—An average yarding of sheep came forward, for which prices showed a decline on last week’s rates. Extra .heavy prime wethers (woolly) made 41s 6d; shorn, 355; heavy prime woolly, 38s 9cl; shorn. 33s 3d; medium shorn 30s; heavy prime ewes, woolly 355; shorn. 26s 6d; lighter woolly, 30s; shorn, 23s 3d; other ewes, woolly, 255; shorn, 22s 6d. Lambs.—More than an average yarding of spring lambs came forward and sold on a par with las* week’s prices. Prime heavy lambs made 29s 6d ; medium, 28s (id; light, 245. Pigs.—Prices for porkers remained firm, with the demand for baconer.s rather liiqited. Heavy bar-oners made £3 to £3 6s; medium. £2 14s to £2 IFis; light, £2 10s to £2 13s; heavy porkers, £2 8s to £2 12s; medium, £2 is to £2 7s ; light, £2 to £2 3s.
