KVEBURN DIGGINGS CHARGE. GOLD SAMPLES IN COURT. EXPERT GIVES EVIDENCE. i' (By Telegraph—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, Nov. 1. In the investigation of the Kyeburn murder trial, the Court roee last night after thirteen witnesses, had. been, examined. Twenty-two others are still to be called. The trial was resumed this morning. Moses Blown, a gold miner, stated lie hadi been mining for 48 years in various parts and had been engaged, as an expert in connection with prospecting and dredging. On July 23, at the request of the police, witness went to •Shu.m’s place and supervised the wash-ing-up of a. claim. Mr Hanlon asked if witness didn t fay before, the Magistrate that, not having seen a fourth sample come out of the box it was impossible for him to say it was identical with the other three samples. Witness replied: “1 am so absolutely certain that the samples are identical that I don’t see I could make that mistake.” Witness added that what occurred was that he was asked 1 if he could swear the "gold came fromi the claim, and said he couldn’t, because to swear that he would have to see it come out. . .
