RAILWAY MISHAPS.
' CRASH ON .CROSSING. CAR PASSENGER INJURED. (3y Telegraph—Press Association.) ASHBURTON, Nov. 1. The southbound slight express train ran into a motor car on a crossing in the town last evening. The car was almost over when the collision occurred. The occupants of the car escaped without injury except Miss Maggie McGregor, who received a, fractured shoulder blade. ■
GOODS TRAIN DELAYED.
LARGE BOULDERS ON LINE.
WHANGAREI, Nov. 1. The northbound goods train which left Whangarei at 5.45 o’clock this morning was held up between Rxiataugata and Kauri by boidders on the line, the largest of which measured 12 by nine by six feet and weighed many tons.
These had been dislodged by heavy rain and crashed down a bush-clad slope. Several boulders weighed about two tons.
It is expected to have the track clear this afternoon. ;,
