SOME CHAMPIONSHIP AWARDS. (By T«ie«raph—Press Association.) PALMERSTON N.', Got. 31. . To-day was the. judging day of the fifth Royal Show, when there was a splendid array of pedigree stock presented to the judges. The weather conditions were showing an improvement. There was' a large attendance. Championship awards include the following : Tamworilis.—Boar, D. and S. Ross (T’e Puke); sow, D. and S’. Rosts; reserve, Bowen and Wilson (Hastings). Large blacks.—Boar, D. and S. Ross; reserve, E. P.. Nielsen (Tiakitahuni); sow, E. P. Nielsen; reserve, Central Development Farm (Weraroa). English Leicester, in wool: —Ram and ewe, Sir R. Heaton Rhodes; reserve, rani and ewe, Sir D. MacLeari. Border Leicester, in wool.—All championships to G. V. Pearce (Waitotara). Shorthorns. —Bull, J. A. Johnstone (Palmerston North) “Bushy Park Augustus " Hero” ; reserve, Johnstone’s “Bushy Park Lavender Royal”.; cow, Arch McLean’s (Hastings) “Greenhill Lady Flora 10th” ; reserve, McLean’s “Greenhill Royal Duchess 14t1i.” Mr Johnstone’s “Bushy Park Augustus Hero”, won the New Zealand Shorthorn Society Cup for the best Shorthorn, male or female, registered in the society’s herd book; also a cup for best pedigree Shorthorn bull presented by the ( Shorthorn Society of Great Britain and Ireland.
