CAPETO WN, Oct. 30. Lieut. Murdoch, who crashed ip .the w-lct’S of Congo when returning to England in the Avro in which be flew m August from London, had a terrible experience. He had Grossed tlx© niountauiiiS in the nonth of Kaisanga, when a. terrible down current of air swept his machine against the face of the -mountains. Whipping the throttle- full open, Lieut. Murdoch .held the plain© a few feet above the bush and made for a. kloof which was full of dead air. A tree cut the wing and' the machine turne dtuirtle. His belt broke and the tank cut his 1 Heins to tin©: bone as he crawled through the flames. He dragged himself thirty miles to a native village, to which .a. missionary travelled hill night to reach him and: saved his life.
