ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
WOMAN KILLED WHEN LORRY CAPSIZED. (By Telegraph—Pres« Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Oct. 8. Through the lorry which her husband was driving becoming out of control and capsizing, Irene Bryant, a married woman, aged 20, was killed at Port Levy last evening. The husband received minor injuries. MAN IN MOTOR BOAT MISSING. BLENHEIM, Oct. 8. A man who put to sea in an outboard motor-boat on Saturday afternoon lias not been beard of since. It is feared a tragedy lias occurred and that the boat lias been driven out to sea. The man is H. G. Mclntosh, a men’s outfitter of Blenheim. PASSENGERI LOST OVERBOARD. AUCKLAND, Oct. 8. A distressing incident marred the pleasure of those on board the Niagara on her trip from Vancouver to Auckland. The evening before the vessel reached Honolulu, S. A. Mott, of Albury. New South Wales, aged 70, a member of the delegation of Australians of Scottish descent on their way back fidin Scotland, was lost overboard. He carried practically all Ins personal papers with him. It was not until late in the evening that Mott was reported missing, and after a thorough search of the ship had been carried out it was decided he had been lost by falling overboard. Mott was a widower, his wife having died shortly before he left Australia. He was accompanied on the trip by his niece.
