KING GIVES MEDAL.
COMPETITION FOP. POLICEMEN (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, Oct. His Majesty the King has honoured policemen of the Empire with a new mark of his interest and appreciation of their services. It takes the form of a gold medal to be presented annually by His Majesty for competition among men of all regular police forces. The medal, together with a substantial money prize, will bo awarded for the best essay on a set subject connected with police dutiea The subject chosen for the first year’s competition is co-operation between police and the public in the detection and prosecution of crime. The institutition of this competition is announced in a recent metropolitan police order. It- will be open to serving members of regular police forces williin the Empire or mandated territories-.
