CYCLE ROAD RACE.
SATURDAY’S ROAD RACE. WON BY H. THORPE. The Kaponga Cycle Club conducted a successful road race bn Saturday afternoon. The day was fine and attracted eleven riders to face the starters (Messrs Noonan and Payne). The two placed "limit riders combined and worked well together and managed to stave off a strong challenge by the virtual scratch men. The course, a distance of 28 miles, was round the Manaia, Otakeho, Awatuna block. Detailed results are as follow: H. Thorpe (7min), Ihr I6min sosec I 0. William (Bmin), Ihr 17min 56sec 2 L. Gargan (2min), Ihr 12min oosec 3 Fastest time was gained by. L. S. Gargan, who did the journey in Ihr. I2min.
