WELLINGTON, Sept. 26: " About 70 delegates from all parts of •jotli islands attended the inaugural meeting of the county clerks of New /.ealand to-day, when it was unanimously decided to form an organisation to be known as the New Zealand Institute of County Clerks. A constitution was adopted. The Dominion was livided into the following seven district branches: Auckland (30 counties), Taranaki (10), ? \\ el ling ton (11), Hawke’s Bay (13), West Coast (8), Canterbury '(including Marlborough,29), Otago and Southland (15). •-'■-/ - The election of officers resulted: President, Mr. F. C. Perry (Waitomo); ,'ice-presidents, Messrs G. Kelby (Ashburton) and F. H. Hudson (Horo.vlienua) ; secretary and treasurer, Mr. J W. Harding (Hawera); executive, Messrs C. A. Cawkwell (Auckland), H. H. Richardson (Wellington), B. G, signal (Hawke’s Bay), R.. Ellis (Taranaki), D. J. E.ans (West Coast), A. A. Readdie (Canterbury), J. Logan (Otago and Southland); auditor, Mr. 1 . Derbyshire (Wanganui) Steps are to be taken" to register the institute under the Incorporated Societies Act.
