REFORM CANDIDATE) FOR KALAPOI. (By Te'egraph—Press Association.) OHRISTCtHU'RiCiH, Sept, 26. -Mr J. A. Fles-her, an ex-Mayor of Ghristdhuroh, lias been selected as the Reform candidate -for Kaiapoi. The selection was made <to-day by a conference- at Avhich 65 delegates- from Reform organisations in all parts of the electorate attended. The other candidates AA*ere Messrs J. YV. Bea-nland and- L. B. Evans. The conference carried resolutions pledging support to the selected candidate and expressing confidence in the Prime Minister and in the Reform Government. Mr Flesher avos elected on a second ballot. He is prominent in. the prohibition movement. . A petition is beine* circulated' m the district asking Mr AV. P. Spencer, who is Avell-knoAvn as a member of the Education Board, to stand as an Independent.
