I WELLINGTON, Sept, 12. William Joseph Forsyth, ' Ernest Basil Oxenham, and Ronald d - F. Peterson came before Air. Salmon, S.M ~ to-day in connection with thefts of aoods from Derbyshire's Ltd. to the "value of £SO os 7d. Two other charges of having received stolen (roods to the value of £lO os were made against Peterson. All pleaded guilty. It was stated that several months ago an employee of Derbyshire’s had been sentenced to imprisonment for theft of £SO in goods and another man was given probation for theft. Thefts !from"the firm had extended over a long period, and the loss suffered went into large figures. In view of the ages of the accused and the tact- that they were apparently led by older men into the lapses, the Magistrate thought lie might be justified in extending probation, and the period was fixed at two years. Restitution in connection with the goods not accounted for already was required. SURREAIE COURT AT GREYMOUTH. GREYMOUTH, Sept, 12. .Mr Justice Adams presided over a session of’ the Supreme Court, There was only one criminal case. James i Nash, aged 23, pleaded guilty to indecent assault on a. little- girl at the pictures.
