(From Our Own Correspondent.) GENERAL. Tlio “bobby” call 1 industry is now in full swing, and the local station yard presents a. busy appearance each morning when trucking operations are in progress. A shortage of water was being felt by quite a number of local residents till the rain on Sunday and Monday, which relieved the position. A street mart was held on Saturday by members of St. Andrew s Ladies*’ Guild, and good business was done. The guild funds should benefit by a considerable amount. The work of removing the rocks an the fairway at the harbour is being carried out wben weather conditions allow the diver to work, and good progress has been made during tlio last week. There was a good attendance at a dance held in the Oaonui Hall last Friday night to present the Des Forges Cup to the Oaonui _ football team, who were the 1928 winners of the competition. A team of lady golf players from the local club are to play a team of Fit ham ladies at Eltham to-morrow. PERSONAL.

Mr. P. Harding, who is at present a patient in the New Plymouth Hospital, is making favourable progress. Mrs. Brunette, of Wellington, is at present on a. holiday visit to Opunake. Mrs. T. N. Watt is at present on a. visit to Auckland.
