WOMAN FOUND DEAD. (By Teleprapn—Pres? Association.) M'ASTERTON, Aug. 13. Gertrude Hilda Roberts, <a married woman aged 34-, residing with her husband in Kuripuni Street, Masterton, ; was found dead this afternoon in the wash-house with her head in a gas oven and the gas turned on. The discovery was niade by the elder of two 'children at about 3.30 o ’clock. Mrs Roberts had started at midday that she was not feeling well. LINESMAN ELECTROCUTED. WELLINGTON, Aug. 13. It is reported that the child whs swinging by a rope suspended from a pile of blocks when the block fell. .SEAMAN SERIOUSLY INJURED. DUNEDIN, Aug. 13. While engaged in swinging hatches on the s.s. Huntingdon this afternoon the boatswain was knocked off between decks into the lower hold. Both his legs were fractured and he received. , injuries to his head. The injured man, Robert Kean, 53 years of age, married, ■was admitted to hospital.
