TROPICAL STORMS.
IN SOUTHERN U.S.A. TOWNS WIPED OUT. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph Copyright.) (Australian Press Association.) NEW YORK, Aug. 11. Four persons were killed in tropical storms which struck North and South Carolina' to-day after working .their way from the West Indies through Florida and Georgia last week and doing damage amounting to many million, dollars there, wiping out whole, towns, uprooting orchards alrad flooding wide areas in the rich Pioclmont section.
