AUROA.
(From O'nr Own Correspondent.) TELEPHONE SERVICE. There was an attendance of about 15 local settlers a.t a meeting called for the purpose of Qlbfcainimg telephone service at Auroa, Air IV. v . Bradford presiding. Mr W. Ward, Postmaster of Alauaia, was present to give information regarding the proposal. The chairman outlined the necessity of telephone communication for farmers land said it was for the meeting to decide whether a local exchange or party line connecting with either Alauaia or Kaponga was the better proposition. It was proposed by Air A. Kruse that a canvass he made for subscribers for , a local exchange. Alter considerable discussion this was carried and the following were appointed canvassers along the various roads : Rama and Taikatu Roads, Afesisrs Kruse and Sandford; Auroa Roaid, Messrs H. Buxton and W. Lyndon; Sheet Road, A fosses A. C. Johnstone. W. J. Bradford, W. R. Sandford, and Caldwell; Sheet Road East, Air J. O. Duff. it was decided, to hold the next meeting on Saturday evening next. Air Ward was thanked by the meeting for his assistance to them. EUCHRE) PARTY AND' DANCE!
At a meeting called for making arrangements for the forthcoming dance, it was decided to make the evening attractive by putting on novelty dances' and this, together with good supper and orchestral music, should ensure a good patronage.
