Winning bv a neck.. Abisogne raacic no race of the Trial Handicap, coming away to win easily. Reed’s mount. Dishonoured 1 , got a good run, but courid not net near the leader, and Bold Front displaced him in tbo last half-furlong. Kingsel got a. bad start, but finished well up. Tho Waikanae Handicap brought a boil-over. Othon paying a big price for a sterling win. Othon was well pla-cpd at the bend and. got up in the last few strides to beat Cool Card and Wanderlust.

Singleton had to go to beat First Prince, in the Second Hack Flat. The latter made .the turn for home in front and stayed' on well. Tea Lady was a good* third. There was an excellent finish in the To Hupa.ru Steeplechase, Handy and Master Arch dead-heating with Comedy Prince close up third'. Handy made the pan? all the way and pint mo a great tight when challenged by the favourite. Pale Star, who was favourite for the Turanganui Handicap, was well placed to the straight, coming on to snatch victory from Night Witch, an outsider, who looked like a. winner at the distance. King Wanga, led the Farewell. Handicap field at the distance, but Huikai finished briskly,to win. Othon finished close up second, with the others hunched behind.
