ALLEGED MURDER. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, July 28. William John Hardie, charged with the murder of Joe Shen at Kyebu-rn diggings on July .17, was remanded for one week in custody. MQfTOR LORRY DRIVER FINED. WELLINGTON, July 28. Henry Malden MciFa-rlane, a carrier, aged 37, was fined £2O to-day and his license suspended for three months for being intoxicated while in change of a motor lorry. DROWNED IN MINERAL SPRING. WHANGAREI, July 28. An old-age pensioner named Thomas Woods, an inmate of the Old People’s Home, was drowned in the mineral baths at Kamo springs this morning. Deceased slipped into a batli when attempting to get a bucket of water.
