SIGNING THE PEACE PACT.

DOMINIONS’ TRUST IN BRITAIN

DESIRE TO RECOGNISE IT

lUnited Press Association—By Electric Telegraph

copyright.; (Australian Press Association.;

LONDON, July 26.. Though official circles in London up till lute this afternoon knew only that the Peace Pact was being signed in Paris during the last week in August, the French semi-official announcement that the date has' been fixed for August 27 is generally accepted as being correct. It is one which conveniently , fits in with Foreign Ministers’ journeys -to Geneva to participate in the League of Nations’ Council meeting on August- 30. Official circles express a keen desire that Australia and New Zealand should sign the- treaty -separately as an appreciation of their unquestioning trust in Great Britain as a medium for the preliminary diseussions. The gathering at Paris will have special interest. Dr. Stresemann's visit will he the first by a German Foreign Minister since the war.

The only Ministerial absentees are likelv t-o be Mussolini and the Japanese Foreign Minister.
