MAN KILLED BY FALX, OF EARTH

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, July 26.

Femv Dineen aged 50 vea*:xs, was killeri* this afternoon through, a fall of euth and stone when working on relief works on the Port Chalmers Spit Road.

Deceased was working with a gains excavating the .side of a hill 25 feet feet high when the fall took place. He was dug out by his comrades and was alive, but died while being hi ought to the Dunedin hospital Dinc.en was a widower and resided at Westlsv Street, South Dunedin.

The girls summoned help at the post office, but on the arrival of Dr. M. S. Harris., cf Kumieu, life was found to he extinct. Spratly had apparently had a. heart attack. A newspaper which he luad apparently been reading was found’ at his feet.
