THE PROOF COULD THERE BE BETTER ? Read what the user of the First New “ MODEL A ” Ford Car sold in Hawera has to say. Writing to Mr Kemp under date 2nd July this gentleman states:— “You will no doubt be interested to know how the New Ford Coach behaved on our trip of nearly 1400 njiles around the North Island. “Throughout our first day’s journey, over Mt. Messenger, via Te Kuiti to Waitomo Caves, it was not necessary to change gears, and the petrol consumption worked out at 25 miles per gallon. Next day, via Hamilton to Te Aroha, afterwards to Rotorua. Here the consumption averaged 27 miles per gallon. “The journey via Wairakei and Taupo to Napier is very hilly. One accent, Turangakuwa, 2700 ft, then descend and cross Mohaka. river, again ascend, Titiokura., along steep climb of 4 miles to summit, 2550 ft. Here I took the cap off the radiator and found that I could easily beaar my finger in the water. This surprised me greatly after such a long steep climb.” “We afterwards journeyed to Wellington via Manawatu and Paekakariki. This hill we climbed in good style, only changing gear for'about ten yards when negotiating a corner, the car soon gaining speed again.” We returned via Rimutaka and Wairarapa and this did not necessitate any change of gears. “On the whole journey there was no water required in the radiator, and on returning to Hawera I had the oil emptied out and measured, and found that* I had used only If pints for the whole run. “ The car is very easily held on the road; even with loose shingle it holds on with a minimum of effort. “Travelling from a big car passed at a good speed, so I thought I would try conclusions.
