The dispute over the abrogation of the Chinese treaties is now definitely in progress The Italian Consul-General, Signor Galanti, to-day issued a statement announcing that it was well that everyone in China should know that the Sino-Italinn treaty had not lapsed in consequence of the illegal unilateral declaration by the Nanking Government. The Italian Government reserved the. right to adopt such measures as it deemed opportune in the case of violation of the treaty, though naturally it was ready to meet the Chinese desires lor treaty revision.
