(From Our Own Correspondent.) 'SALVATION ARMY. The ilocail corps of the> Salivation Army celebrated its 33rd birthday yesterday. Brigadier Walls, of the national headquarters staff, in Wellington, conducted the •meeting: yesterday. There were good attendances at all the services. The anniversary aid will be held to-night, after which a musical programme will Ho given. PITTNIvET SOCIETY. The Elthiaim Plunket Society 'conductor a street day on Saturday and the results of the various activities were very successful financially, approximately £6O being raised. The stall holders, were: Variety, Mesdames Crump, J. Stewart, Saunders and Crawford; produce, Mesdames Avery, Campbell, Ware, A. Stewart, May, 0. Pease, and Miss M. Quin; cake, Mesdaines Weir, C. Cooper, Picard, Carson, and Garden; secondhand, Mesdames Best, Cover and Sanderson. Mrs. MacoDnald canvassed the business premises for gift for the hoop-la, which was conducted by Messrs May, Silver and Thompson.
