OPUNAKE HOSPITAL
PROPOSED 1 ALTERATIONS. At the monthly meeting of the hospital board in New Plymouth, the chairman (Mr S, Vickers) reported on the .proposed alterations at the Opunake cottage hospital, and- stated that the board was now only waiting for the approval of the plans by the department. Mr Young said the Opunake people had at present £63 in hand and expected to get the £75 they bad promised. Te I>iri and Opunake were both malting efforts. He thought the promised “sunshine room” was asjsu.red. It was decided that- on receipt of the approved .plans from the department the house and finance committee should' call tenders for the work. Mr Deare mentioned that the “sunshine ward” would cost £250. * The question of alterations to the board’s cottage at Opunake was referred to a committee. ' At the cottage hospital in Opunake, it' was reported that there bad beerr eight confinements and one medical case. The admissions were nine, discharges 11. remaining three, •end daily average five.
