A now X-ray 'wonder, which. it is claimed will enable medical mem to watch the fum , ctio.ndmg of interior organs for ext end ad periods, is .to be demon strait wl shortly in London’. .Tovemted by Professor Bom Hard!., of Munich, a well-known research physicist, it is known ,as ‘ ‘ the Stereoscopic X-ray.” Lieut.-Colonel G. S. Hutchinson, whose sunlight treatment of ithe colliers at Sherwood, Nottingham, has attracted much attention, is responsible for the introduction of the new device here. “It will,” he declares, “make diagnosis much easier, and it is one of the ibiggest advances in surgical science iu recent years. Comimenting on the new apparatus’ a leading radiologist who knows Herr Born Hardit said various devices had been introduced into X-ray apparatus to get a stereoscopic effect, and it was possible this was a technical improvement ’on existing methods. ‘‘ It must be, born, in .mind, however,” he added, “that the general practice of radiologists is to cut down, screen examination of the patient as much as possible. _ All the time you are ’subjecting the patients (to radiation and unless some means' of protecting them is ’devised there is a danger of giving them a bad burn.”
