TAX ASSESSMENT UPHELD. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, July 3. Air. Justice Sim gave judgment in tlie Supreme Court-to-day upholding the assessment ol £31,000 as representing tlie goodwill of four Wellington hotels in the appeul of tlie Public Trustee as sole executor of Hamilton Gilmer against the Commissioner of Stamp Duties. His Honour -held that the interest ol the owner in the license and goodwill could not be included in the unimproved value of the land, and it was not an improvement within the meaning of the Act.
