MIGRATION.
OF SUPREME IMPORTANCE TO . LABOUR.

LONDON; July 3. ‘ ‘The question off migration must necessarily be of cardinal importance to Labour,” said Mr Ben Turner, who presided, at to-day’s session pf the Labour Conference. “We realise timed the self-governing Dominions have attained. full nationhood and can no longer be expected to do as the Mother Country would have them. They have their own problems, responsibilities and standard; of social behaviour.”
The best that could bo hoped for was to establish a basis of mutual cooperation, he continued.. Unemployment was intensified in Britain by the decrease of emigration since the war. Emigration was not a cure. Unemployment. eonlld be dealt with only as part of a general economic system which must take into account industrial developments, the question of land ownership and land usage.
