ALTERATION OF CHAMPIONSHIP PROGRAMME. STANDARDISATION OF COURSES. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, July 3. The Golf Council has made some alterations in the championship programme from last year. The open championship and .amateur qualification rounds will be played first on the Friday and Saturday, foursomes on the Monday. The first and second rounds of the amateur championship will consist only of eighteen holes played on the Tuesday. Thursday will be an offday, and the final will be played on the Saturday. The meeting opens probably on October 12. In connection with the standardisation of courses, it was resolved to notify clubs not to 'adopt the new standard scratch till advised. The standardising of the majority of courses has been completed.
