COOKS GIVE IN.
OVER PICKING-UP PLACES. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph Copyright.) (Australian Press Association.) SYDNEY, June 24. The marine cooks have given the shipowners an assurance that all cooks may be picked up wherever the owners require them, and the recommissioning of the idle ships is to commence on Monday. It is hoped this will mean the end of a strike that has caused paralysis of Australian shipping and a loss of at least -£1,000,000. .SAI LI NG ARiRiANG EM ENTS. Received 10.35 a.m, to-day. SYDNEY, June 25. Crews are being selected for two large idle vessels, which will be despatched to-night. The cargo received by the Ulimaroa' is being transferred to the Mamma, which eans on Friday. 'Hire Ulimaroa will sail for Auckland on July 0, and for Wellington two weeks later.
