SOUTHDOWN BREEDERS’ SOCIETY
PALMERSTON N., June 20. At the annual meeting of the Southclown Breeders’ Society a resolution was adopted commending the efforts of the Agricultural Department in safeguarding the interests of live stock breeders in preventing foot and month disease. It urged continuance of the rigid protective policy. The officers elected were: President, Mr. James Knight (Eeilding); vicepresidents, Mr. J. Deans (South . Island) and Mr. C. E. Vile (North Island); couneil. Messrs. H. J. Andrew, W. J. Gimhlett. J. Kniglit, J. Stevenson and C. E. Vile. It was decided that the secretary should write to the American Society asking for recognition of New Zealand Southdowns as being eligible for the American stud book.
